Know moreRub the surface using a suitable abrasive paper and wipe it off to ensure that the surface is clean, dry and free from dirt, grease, wax or any other defective or poorly adhering material.
Apply a coat of Nerolac Cement Primer ** (water thinnable) followed by Nerolac Wall Putty**/ Nerolac Cement Putty** (wherever required) to level and smoothen the surface.
Sand the surface with emery paper 220 and wipe clean.
Apply another coat of primer on puttied areas.
Sand the surface with emery paper 320 and clean the surface with cloth before painting.
Finally, apply two to three coats of Nerolac Interior Emulsion as per recommended thinning. Dark shades may require additional coat for hiding.
The surface to be painted must be free of all dust, grease, traces of paint, flaks, algae, fungus etc.
The surface previously coated with paint must be cleaned thoroughly with a stiff wire brush, to remove dust, dirt, chalking or any friable material & loose flakes.
Wash thoroughly with water and allow to dry. This ensures proper adhesion of the new paint system.
In case of fungus affected area, apply a liberal coat of Nerolac Fungicidal Solution. Allow it to react for minimum 6-8 hours. For parapet tops and other horizontal surfaces, application of 3 coats is recommended.
All structural cracks must be open in V shape and filled with cement/cement based plasters and leakage should be stopped before actual painting.
Freshly plastered surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. Apply top coats as follows
